Sir Athur Conan Doyle
Assorted Titles
One of the most popular and influential authors of the 19th and 20th Centuries, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is one of the few authors of that era to have achieved immense success and popularity in his lifetime and to have that popularity and influence grow in the time since his death.
A prolific writer, Conan Doyle is, obviously most famous for his Sherlock Holmes stories, though his antipathy for his creation is well known and well documented.
His most famous creation beside Holmes is the irascible and occasionally violent (albeit brilliant) Professor Challenger, whose most famous adventure, The Lost World, has been adapted for film, TV and radio on numerous occasions.
Conan Doyle had a prodigious output of both fiction and factual writing, often examining the topic which interested him most, including spiritualism, which became something of an obsession in the latter years of his life.
Our releases of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels, short stories and stage plays can be found on our Sherlock Holmes page.
